Make a Difference ...
Make a move! is led by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia in partnership with Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection, and Cancer Care Nova Scotia. The goal of the program is to increase the quantity and quality of physical activity counseling by healthcare professionals through training and support.
Make a move! brings together the research and tools of PACE-CAN and the innovation and creativity of Capital Health’s Make a move! Pilot program. PACE-CAN is offered nationally by CFLRI and endorsed by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Are you concerned about how active Nova Scotians are … or aren’t? Physical activity is a known determinant of health status yet half of all Nova Scotians aren’t active enough for health benefits. These inactivity levels create a significant burden on our healthcare system.
The old adage is true, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure – Benjamin Franklin.

- Be taught effective physical activity counseling strategies, from patient referral and educational materials to minimal intervention, touching on motivational interviewing theory and tools, and how to easily implement these strategies into any practice setting

- Receive a letter of completion for continuing education credits. This program has been accredited for 3.0 CEUs by the Division of Continuing Pharmacy Education, College of Pharmacy, file # CED-2007-299 and 2 MainPro C credits through the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
